How to organize Hotmail (now Outlook) emails with labels? To better organize your Hotmail email messages, labels were designed to help users manage their account. If your emails look like a mess, try using labels to categorize and simplify them.

Create a new folder

  1. Open your Hotmail account by entering your phone number/ Skype address and password.

  2. For the head Folders in the left pane, click on New Folders at the bottom of the folders list.

  3. Type the name of the new folder in the field that appears in the left panel.

  4. Click Enter to save the new folder.

Add a subfolder in Hotmail?

  1. In the left pane of the screen, click on Folders to expand the section if it is closed.

  2. Right-click on the folder that you want to create a subfolder on.

  3. Select Create new subfolder on the top of the list in the drop-down.

  4. Type the name of the new subfolder in the field that appears under the folder.

  5. Click Enter to save the new subfolder.

    This is the way you should apply to create a subfolder.

Move a email to the new folder/subfolder?

  1. Go to Inbox, right-click on the email you want to move to the new folder/subfolder.

  2. Select Move in the drop-down. Then click on the name of the folder/subfolder to which you want to move the email to finalize your task.

Delete a folder/subfolder in Hotmail?

  1. In the left pane of the screen, click on Folders expand the section if it is closed.

     

  2. Right-click on the folder or subfolder that you want to delete. Then there will appear a drop-down. Select Delete folder.

  3. For the field Delete folder that just appeared, click on the Ok button.
